Cancellation and ceasing of circuits

Our contracts are usually 3 years (36 months) and start from when the circuit first went live (not the order date which could be quite some time beforehand). Once a circuit is out of contract, there are no penalties or cease charges to cancel a circuit, but you must give the appropriate notice. You can cease a circuit at any time, but there may be termination costs for the circuit if done early and you will still be liable for the monthly fees until the end of the contract. Minimum notice periods to cease a service are set by the carrier handling the connection to your premises and are as follows:

BT WholesaleFibre
EFM
GEA
30 working days

Please note that a cease cannot be requested for a date on a weekend. If attempting to cease in line with contract expiry, then if the cease date is set to the date before the weekend, then billing will continue until the contract end date. For example, if your contract expires on 14th Feb 2026 (which is a Saturday), you can request a cease for Friday 13th or Monday 16th. If you pick 13th, you will still be billed until 14th. If you pick 16th, you will be billed until 16th.

To cease, you must agree to the following conditions:

  1. I confirm that I have permission to cease the leased line <REFERENCE> located at <POSTCODE>
  2. I understand that if I break contract that I will be invoiced for all remaining unused months subscription
  3. I understand and accept that by cancelling this leased line at <POSTCODE> it cannot be undone
  4. I understand and accept the minimum cease lead times are applied by the carrier, not Precedence
  5. I understand and accept it is my responsibility to separately cease any associated backup / failover services. These will not ceased as a result of this cancellation request
  6. All services are billed on whole monthly rolling contracts. We do not offer refunds for services cancelled partway through a month, and I acknowledge that no refund will be issued for any unused period
  7. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to return any router(s) at the premises and accept any replacement fees if it cannot be retrieved
