VenueBooker

Allowing user access

A user must be a member of the "Access-Venuebooker" access group to enable to use the program.

This will automatically place a shortcut on their start menu when using a PVS/Thin Client (after logging out and in).

If they are using a standalone machine the shortcut will needed to be added from \\resources\apps$\venuebooker. Make a shortcut of the "VenueBooker.exe" application and paste the shortcut where they want it (most likely desktop).

Setting Up Venuebooker Account

  • Navigate to \\resources\apps$\venuebooker and run the application "VBAdmin.exe".
  • Enter "Username" as "Admin" and "Password" as "venuebooker".

Note: The admin portal is a little buggy so be careful when making changes and check the correct user is selected when submitting changes.

  • Click on "Add User" and fill in all the following fields with the User's information.
  • Set a password and click "Add User".

Note: Username is formatted as (First name)(First Letter of Surname) and is not case sensative

  • Select the User and click on the permissions tab (permissions are decided by the user that submitted the ticket but need to be confirmed by Alison Miners).

Note: On the permissions tab you can see who's permissions you are changing in Blue at the top of the tab

  • Click "Update now" to submit changes.

Note: The user cannot change their own password, it needs to be changed from the Admin Interface.
