Software Installation on Personal Devices

Normally when it comes to personal devices at Linton, the only tasks is making sure the device can start a Citrix remote sessions (https://access.lvc.org).

There is currently 1 exception to this rule.

SMART Software Installation method for Staff laptops not on domain

Before the install can happen a Software Installation Form must be filled out and singed by the staff member and the technician that is going to run the install.

RESTART IS REQUIRED IMMEDIATELY AFTER INSTALLATION

• Map network drive Z: to \\backup\backup\mdt\deploymentshare
  • Un-check reconnect at login
  • Check use different credentials
• Provide valid linton.internal credentials for someone in the ITSupport group
  • Username: linton\<username>
  • Password: <password>
• Install with the command prompt

cd "applications\smartboard software"
msiexec /i SMARTEducationSoftware.msi /qb TRANSFORMS=lvc.mst

• Click Yes on all UAC prompts
• Restart Computer

When the software in uninstalled the same form must be singed again by both the staff member and the technician that carried out the uninstall.
