Creating New PvD Machines in Existing Machine catalog

  • On PVS01 Launch Citrix Provisioning Service Console
  • Expand Linton > Sites > Right-Click "ICT" and select "XenDesktop Setup Wizard"
  • Next
  • XenDesktop Controller Address - xdc01
  • iSCSI
  • login
  • PCTemplate (Leave VDA Version as Reccomended)
  • Production\Windows7
  • Use an existing catalog "Win7PvD"
  • Define amount of Machines to create and set the below settings
    • vCPUs: 2
    • Memory: 4096
    • Local Write Cache Desk: 11GB
    • Personal vDisk Size: 10GB
    • Personal vDisk Drive Letter: N:
    • PXE Boot
  • Create New Accounts
  • linton.internal/Workstations/Unrestricted/VDI
    • Account Naming: PC-VDIPvD-###

The newly created VM should then boot, its PvD will be prepared for use and the VM will turn itself off. If the PvD state is anything but Ready after the shutdown then you will need to re-create the VM.

Deleting PvD Machines

  • Launch Citrix Studio (e.g XDC01)
  • Turn the VM off and turn on maintenance mode for the VM
  • Delete the VM
  • Launch Citrix Provisioning Service Console
  • Locate the VM in the console. Right-click the VM > Active Directory > Delete Machine Account
  • Right-Click the VM > Delete
  • Launch XenCentre
  • Locate the VM > Right-Click > Delete VM
