ESP

All software was saved in \\resources\itsupport$\software\PC-SPORTS-01 reinstall

Re-installing the ESP workstation

  • Currently installed as PC-SPORTS-01
  • Serial VeriFone VX820 card reader
  • USB receipt printer (Epson TM-T88IV)
  • USB smartcard reader (Gemalto)
  • ESP client which connects to on-site ESP server
  • ePay client which connects on on-site ePay server

...so if using a USB keyboard and mouse, this needs a PC with one serial port and four USB ports.

Note that the highly trained staff at ESP will charge you £75 per config change, which includes IP and MAC address restrictions for clients. The Sports Centre has only purchased enough licences for three workstations.

Currently allowed are:

  • The IP address 10.0.6.1
  • Both MAC addresses for Matt Bailey's laptop (LC-CB)
  • The MAC address for Helen Fenn's PC (PC-FINANCE-01)

Credit card reader and receipt printer software

  1. Go to the support tab and scroll down, click on Software and drivers
  2. Click on Hardware & Peripherals
  3. Click on VeriFone
  4. Download v03.56.04.42 - for use with Vx820 pinpads (Dated 25.02.14) - 32bit and 64bit installers.zip
  5. Run Installers\64bit\OciusPEDSentinelSetup.msi
  6. Run Ocius Sentinel
  7. Press Auto Detect on the config screen
  8. Credit card reader should light up, press yes, then save options
  9. When software starts choose to connect
  10. System isn't licensed so copy OciusPEDKey.dat into C:\Program Files\VeriFone\Ocius Sentinel
  11. Connect again, at the prompt choose to use the licence
  12. Message is now Unexpected pinpad attached, close Ocius Sentinel
  13. Open it again and apparently your pinpad is no longer unexpected

The program only starts correctly if the user is a local administrator, for regular users the program will crash on startup. According to installation manual (branded as Commidea LTD instead of Veriphone) the following user rights are required:

  • Full read/write access to the install directory, by default C:\Program Files\Commidea\Ocius Sentinel. Replace Commidea with Veriphone. There are log files in here which seems to be the cause of the crash.
  • Full read/write access to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Commidea\OCIUS_PED (the key didn't exist so create it)
  • Full read/write access to C:\ProgramData\Commidea Ltd\Ocius Sentinel\System

Replace the MSI based shortcuts in the Start Menu and Desktop with regular shell based ones. The installer seems to run in the wrong mode by default which causes MSI repair when other users try to launch Ocius Sentinel.

  1. Go back to Hardware & Peripherals
  2. Click on Printers
  3. Click on Epson Advance Printer Driver
  4. Download APD_455dE.exe
  5. Download How to install USB receipt printers (TMT88 and TMT70).pdf
  6. Run the installer
  7. Choose custom installation
  8. Add EPSON TM-T88IV Receipt and Create a USB port
  9. Take all default components

ESP software

  • Copy the installation to C:\Client
  • Copy clientglobal.ini into C:\Client
  • Create shortcut in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and C:\Users\Public\Desktop with a target of C:\Client\espclient.exe

clientglobal.ini without receipt printer
