Multiple IP addresses

Each network card in the NetManager can have multiple IP addresses. These can be on different IP address ranges.

This is useful for:

  • Replacing existing servers with a single NetManager, but you want to retain the same IP addresses
  • Future expansion if you may need to separate out NetManager services onto separate servers as your use grows
  • Port Mapping a port which is already in use (e.g. if you want to give remote access to multiple webservers, but are unable to use Reverse Proxying
  • Port Mapping whole addresses to internal ones

Adding extra IP addresses to a network card is done is the same way as setting the first IP address. Use the Configure interface addresses section of the Console Menu.

Caveats

  • You cannot have the same IP address range on different network cards
  • You cannot use NAT between two ranges of addresses that are on the same card
