Uploading your web site

To upload your website, you will need an FTP client for your favourite operating system. Examples would be:
Acorn RISCOS !FTPc
WindowsFileZilla
MacOSFetch
UnixCommand line FTP
KDE
GNOME
Once you have your FTP program you should simply be able to connect to your website with the username and password we have provided. e.g. if your website is www.mywebsite.com, then you use www.mywebsite.com as the host to connect to.

Caveats

  • Do not delete the directory called log when you FTP to your site
  • Default access permissions should be fine, but if you do change them, you must retain group read access to all directories or files
  • The default page to view is called index.html, index.htm, index.php or index.php3
